Hands-on Reading with the Intergen Volunteers!

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Mrs Macdonald and Mrs Ewan from Intergen for their fantastic contribution to our Thursday afternoon reading sessions.

Each week, these wonderful volunteers join us to support Acre Hall students with their reading, offering encouragement, conversation and a love for books that truly inspires our children. Their time and dedication have made a real difference, helping to build reading confidence, fluency and a genuine enjoyment of storytelling.

It is always a joy to see the positive relationships formed between generations through this project. Thank you again to our Intergen team for being such a valued part of our school community.

Nursery Graduation – A Wonderful Morning of Celebration

This morning, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our Nursery children as they prepare to take their exciting next step into Reception this September.

Families were welcomed into school to enjoy a joyful and heart-warming event, filled with singing, smiles and proud moments as the children marked the end of their early years journey at Acre Hall. The children were absolutely fantastic – confident, enthusiastic and full of excitement for what lies ahead. We are so proud of how far they have come!

A huge thank you to Mrs Sherlock and Miss Dineen (Nursery Teachers) and Mrs Watson (Nursery Teaching Assistant) for their incredible dedication and care in preparing the children so well for their transition. Their hard work and support have made such a difference in helping the children grow in confidence, independence and readiness for Reception.

Well done to all our Nursery graduates – your journey is only just beginning, and we can’t wait to see all you will achieve!

Year 3 Explore Circuits in Science!

This week, our Year 3 students (Miss Johnson’s class) have been getting hands-on in Science as they explored electrical circuits! Using wires, bulbs, batteries, and switches, they learned how to create complete circuits and investigate what happens when components are added or removed.

Owls Transition afternoon – building connections and creativity

Yesterday, our Owls class enjoyed a fantastic transition afternoon with Mrs Harris and Mrs Griffin, as part of their preparation for the new academic year.

The session began with a fun team-building challenge, where students worked together to see who could construct the tallest tower using only paper, scissors, and glue! The activity sparked creativity, cooperation, and lots of laughter as teams competed with enthusiasm and problem-solving skills. Later, the children had the opportunity to express their individuality through art, creating beautiful pieces that celebrated who they are and what makes them unique.

It was a wonderful afternoon full of creativity, connection and growing confidence as the children begin their journey into their new class.

Year 5 Sports Leaders Graduation!

Year 5 Sports Leader Event – Graduation Celebration at Old Trafford Cricket Ground

We are incredibly proud to announce that our Year 5 Sports Leaders from Acre Hall graduated today in a fantastic celebration event held at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

Over the past year, our Sports Leaders have shown outstanding commitment, teamwork and leadership as they supported physical activity and sports across the school. From helping to run playground games to encouraging their peers to stay active, these pupils have taken their roles seriously and demonstrated maturity well beyond their years.

Today’s celebration marked the culmination of their hard work, with students from schools across the borough coming together to celebrate their achievements. The event was not only a chance to receive their certificates but also an opportunity to reflect on what they have learned and how they’ve grown through the programme.

We are so proud of each and every one of our Sports Leaders – they have been fantastic ambassadors for Acre Hall, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to inspire others through sport and leadership in the future.

Well done, Year 5 – you have earned it!

Year 1 shine at Freedom Football Festival!

Our brilliant Year 1 students did us proud today as they took part in the Freedom Football Festival at Partington, competing with great enthusiasm and team spirit against five different teams from the local area.

The children played their hearts out, showing fantastic teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day. They demonstrated all the values we promote at Acre Hall – respect, perseverance, and positivity – both on and off the pitch.

After an exciting series of matches, we are delighted to share that Acre Hall secured 3rd place overall! This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work the children have put into developing their football skills this year.

It was a fun-filled day full of smiles, encouragement, and great goals, and we could not be prouder of how well our Year 1 team represented the school. Well done, Year 1! You were amazing!
