10-14 November 2025 is National School Meals Week. Sodexo, our school’s catering team understands that school meals are more than just food on a plate; they’re a daily opportunity to support your child’s physical health, mental wellbeing and academic performance.

That’s why their culinary teams have developed the attached recipe guide full of easy-to-cook, tasty meals that you can make with you children, which we hope will help encourage them to have a positive relationship with food.

The Acre Hall Children have been invited to create the official Christmas Card for Andrew Western The Labour Member of Parliament for Stretford and Urmston.  The children will be entered into a draw and if a winning design is selected it will appear on the front of the official House of Commons Christmas Card. This is a fantastic opportunity for our budding artists in school.

A big thank you to all the children for their amazing efforts and of course a big thank you to all the teachers for supporting the children and Miss Tomlinson our Art Lead for leading this project.

 

WK 7.11.2025 – Celebrating our Attendance this week!

In today’s Assembly we have celebrated the Star of the Week and Attendance. This week our Music Star for KS1 is Cesc (Yr2) and for KS2 Libby (Owls).

Attendance This Week
We aim for every class to reach at least 96% attendance, in line with national expectations. This week, a special well done goes to our Year 5 (Miss Atherton’s class) who has achieved 97% attendance this week.

Thank you to all our families for continuing to support excellent attendance — it really does make a difference to children’s learning.

We are extremely proud of the fantastic achievements from our Girls Football Team. They have played extremely well yesterday against two other teams from local primary schools and we are very pleased to share with you that they have won both Football Matches. Well done to the whole team!

 

Our 3 year olds nursery children have been celebrating Bonfire Night, exploring light and dark in Science and creating firework pictures in Art. To celebrate Bonfire Night the children have been mark-making using broccoli to recreate fireworks with glitter and glue. We have used our favourite colours to draw with pastels the different patterns fireworks can make, such as zig-zags and swirls. We have used sticks and leaves to recreate a bonfire.

We have also used torches to explore light and dark and even investigated how to help make a pumpkins glow up in the dark with our torches. In PE we have practiced jumping and balancing using balance beams and benches. The children have also really enjoyed baking and making their own chocolate sparklers.

 

SEND Week of Action 2025

From Monday 17 to Friday 21 November, Trafford will be celebrating Trafford’s Local Offer for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) — with a full week of activities, events, and learning opportunities.

 

Our 2 year olds nursery children have been celebrating Bonfire Night. Our focus this week was Bonfire Night. Sharing our own experiences and talking about fire safety. We have also been looking at patterns and colour and have created artwork using new techniques for painting. We finished the week by making chocolate covered apples on Foody Friday!

 

To kick off our new History topic on the Stone Age, Year 4 ventured outdoors to experience what life might have been like thousands of years ago! Using crates, planks, tyres, and tarpaulins, the children worked together to design and build their own shelters — just like early humans would have done (with a modern twist!).

Fantastic teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving from everyone! 

 

We are proud to be supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal again this year. Poppies will be available to purchase in school throughout the week.

All donations go towards supporting members of the Armed Forces community and their families. Thank you for all our families kindness and generosity.
