In today’s Assembly we have celebrated the Star of the Week and Attendance. Attached is a list of all the Star of the Week winners for each class.

We aim for every class to reach at least 96% attendance, in line with national expectations. This week, a special well done goes to Year 5A (Miss Atherton’s class), who had the highest attendance percentage for last week with 98.2% attendance.

SSC Sports Day – A Fantastic day of fun, teamwork and achievement!

Our Robins, Kingfishers and Owls classes had a fantastic time taking part in this year’s SSC Sports Day!

The children enjoyed a range of exciting activities and challenges designed to develop their teamwork, coordination, communication and sporting skills. From obstacle courses and relay races to throwing, balancing and target games, every child approached each activity with enthusiasm, determination and a huge smile. It was wonderful to see the children encouraging one another, celebrating each other’s successes and showing fantastic resilience throughout the day. The event was filled with laughter, confidence and plenty of memorable moments.

A huge thank you goes to all of our staff for organising such an enjoyable event and to the families who came along to support and cheer on the children. Your encouragement helped make the day even more special. Well done to all of our pupils—you were all superstars and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you!

Our Year 5 pupils recently took part in an exciting and informative First Aid Training Day, delivered by Hippo Training.

Throughout the day, the children developed a range of essential life-saving skills through practical activities, demonstrations and role-play scenarios. They learnt how to assess an emergency situation safely, how to contact the emergency services, place someone into the recovery position and respond appropriately if someone is unconscious. The pupils also explored the importance of CPR, basic first aid techniques and how to stay calm and confident in an emergency.

The hands-on nature of the training gave every child the opportunity to practise their new skills and build confidence in responding to real-life situations. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm, teamwork and maturity shown by all of the children as they worked together to solve emergency scenarios and support one another. We are incredibly proud of our Year 5 pupils for the way they embraced this important learning experience. These invaluable life skills will not only support them during their final year at Acre Hall but will remain with them for many years to come.

A huge thank you to Hippo Training for delivering such an engaging, informative and enjoyable day. We hope our pupils never need to use these skills, but they now have the confidence and knowledge to help someone should the need arise.

Our Year 4 students enjoyed a fantastic cricket training session this week, led by Matthew Laker from Academy North. The session was packed with fun, energy and skill-building activities, giving pupils the opportunity to develop their batting, bowling and fielding techniques while building confidence and teamwork.

Matthew’s enthusiasm and expert coaching inspired every child to get involved, with students demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and a real willingness to challenge themselves. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and growing confidence throughout the session.

A huge thank you to Matthew and Academy North for delivering such an engaging and enjoyable experience. We look forward to welcoming them back for more cricket coaching in the future!
