Excitement is brewing at Acre Hall

In October, work began to install a new multi-use games area (MUGA) on our school site.

Mr Catherall, Head of School, enthused: “This is a very exciting time for us all here at Acre Hall, the new pitch will enable children to participate in a wider range of sports, which form a major part of the PE and PSHE curriculum, as well as many extra-curricular activities, all-year round.

“Importantly, having access to this facility will enable children to regain their focus on both their physical and mental health, following the pandemic.

“The new multi-use pitch is something that has been planned for some time, and now, thanks to Bright Futures, it’s finally going to happen.

“We can’t wait to see it start to take shape from what is currently a very large, unusable area of the school grounds. We look forward to watching this incredible transformation come to life, with the project led by Black Cat Building Consultants.”

Latest update:

Just before the half term break in February the site team had made great strides to get the new pitch installed and ready for the summer, there is still lots to be done and we will, of course, be reliant upon the weather (fingers crossed!). So far we have the drainage and stone base in place, along with the lighting.

We’re delighted to report that our new pitch is now complete and in use and we will share a review of its official launch soon.
