Writing Competition Dioramas

Based on the theme for World Book Day 2025 – ‘Book an Adventure’ our school has challenged our students to create their own miniature dioramas of an adventure.

The students had a choice to create these dioramas as a dreamland, a place they would love to visit or a world from their favourite book. The teachers have displayed these amazing creating within our school and we are pleased to share some of these here.

We are extremely pleased with the dioramas the students completed. The teachers will have a tough decision to make in selecting winners for each year group. A big thank you to all students that have taken part, and to the parents for supporting them with materials, time and guidance, and we wish our students best of luck! The winners will be announced in the end of term Assembly on 4th April. Please keep an eye out for this!

The initiative aimed to ensure that the menu reflects the tastes and dietary preferences of the students, offering balanced and enjoyable meal choices. We hope our parents and children enjoyed these sample dishes!

Celebrating Reading with exciting events

At Acre Hall Primary School, we are committed to promoting a love of reading among our students. This March, together with the support and assistance of our resident Author, Mr Pierino Gattei, Acre Hall Primary School has organised several exciting reading challenges to engage and inspire our young readers.

To further enrich our students’ reading experience, we were thrilled to welcome top-rated children’s author and professional storyteller, Fay Evans, to our school on Thursday, 27th February 2025. Fay delivered a fun and interactive assembly, captivating students with a reading of her bestselling rhyming picture book, ‘Fred the Fire-Sneezing Dragon’. She also shared the inspiring journey of how she became a children’s author, offering valuable insights into the world of storytelling and answering questions from our enthusiastic young readers and budding writers.

Fay’s visit was an engaging and memorable experience for our students, filled with lively audience participation. The highlight of the assembly was a school-wide sing-along to one of the songs from Fred The Musical—an exciting new stage adaptation of her debut picture book. Students also had the opportunity to purchase and receive a signed copy of ‘Fred the Fire-Sneezing Dragon’ as a cherished memento of the day.

The event was a fantastic way to celebrate reading, spark creativity, and inspire a new generation of storytellers at Acre Hall Primary School.
