Bright Futures 15th Anniversary – Special Menu

This July marks a momentous milestone as Bright Futures Educational Trust celebrates its 15th Anniversary. To honour a decade and a half of community, collaboration, and learning, our school is putting together an exciting celebration—and it begins right in the school dining hall!

On Friday 10th July 2026, our catering partners Sodexo will be serving up an extraordinary lunch entirely curated by our very own students.

Over the past few weeks, children across the school have had their say, voting on their ultimate favourite dishes. Rather than a standard Friday menu, this Special Celebration Menu has been completely selected by the student body to reflect what they love to eat most.

Bright Futures Educational Trust has spent fifteen years dedicated to helping students thrive, so it is only fitting that our students take centre stage in leading this celebration.

We are keeping the final, mouth-watering menu items a closely guarded secret for just a little longer, but we promise a vibrant, festive atmosphere with plenty of celebratory cheer. Whether your child regularly enjoys school dinners or usually brings a packed lunch, this is the perfect Friday to join in, try something delicious, and celebrate our wider trust family.

A group of our Year 4 pupils proudly represented Acre Hall Primary School at the recent Bright Futures Trust Sports Festival.

The children took part in a variety of sporting activities and competitions alongside pupils from schools across the Trust. Throughout the day, they demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination, resilience, and sportsmanship, embracing every challenge with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

Bright Futures Sports Festival provided a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their sporting skills, make new friendships, and experience healthy competition in a fun and supportive environment. We were incredibly proud of the way our Year 4 pupils represented Acre Hall and showcased our school values throughout the event. Well done to everyone who took part!

In today’s Assembly we have celebrated the Star of the Week and Attendance. Attached is a list of all the Star of the Week winners for each class.

We aim for every class to reach at least 96% attendance, in line with national expectations. This week, a special well done goes to Year 4 KH (Mrs Kan/Mr Hayes’s class), who had the highest attendance percentage for last week with 99.2% attendance. 

Thank you to all our families for continuing to support excellent attendance — it really does make a difference to children’s learning.

As part of our new Design and Technology topic, Making Cushions, Year 4 pupils have been developing their sewing and textile skills. The children began by learning how to safely thread a needle, demonstrating excellent concentration and fine motor control. They then practised a range of sewing techniques, including cross-stitch and appliqué, which they will use when designing and creating their own cushions. The pupils have shown great perseverance and creativity as they develop these new practical skills.

Our Reception and Nursery children had a fantastic trip to St Anne’s Beach this week, enjoying a day full of exploration, discovery, and outdoor learning.

The children showed great curiosity as they explored the beach environment, digging in the sand, designing and building creations, and working collaboratively with their friends. Throughout the day, they used their senses to investigate the world around them and developed their communication skills by describing what they could see, hear, feel, and smell.

The trip provided a wonderful opportunity to bring learning to life outside the classroom, whilst encouraging teamwork, creativity, and confidence. We were incredibly proud of the children’s enthusiasm, behaviour, and willingness to embrace new experiences.

A huge thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who helped make the day such a success.

Pupils from our SSC classes, Robins, Kingfishers and Owls, recently enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Smithills Farm.

The trip provided children with the opportunity to experience farm life first-hand, meet and interact with a variety of animals, and learn more about how a working farm operates. Throughout the day, pupils took part in engaging activities that supported their learning whilst also developing important social, communication and independence skills.

The visit offered many memorable experiences, including feeding animals, exploring different areas of the farm and enjoying the outdoor environment. The children demonstrated excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and resilience throughout the day, particularly as they embraced the activities despite the challenging weather conditions.

Educational visits such as these play an important role in enriching the curriculum and providing meaningful real-life learning experiences for our pupils. We are incredibly proud of how well all of the children represented Acre Hall and would like to thank our dedicated staff team and volunteers for supporting the trip.

We hope the children enjoyed sharing their experiences with their families and look forward to providing many more exciting opportunities in the future.
