Reception Learning

Yesterday an egg arrived in our classroom! It had a letter attached which we decoded. We’ve put it in water and we’re excitedly watching it hatch! I wonder what it will be?! We’ve predicted dinosaur, dragon, snake or ostrich and have been writing names for it.

Mrs Headord came in to help us create a dinosaur small world using natural materials. She talked to the children about the habitats and environment the dinosaurs lived in and helped them to create stories.

Learning in Reception Class

This week we have been learning about old and new toys, extending our vocabulary to compare our toys. We have bought in some of our parents and extended families old toys to look at! We have also been using natural materials like flowers and leaves to make transient patterns. Using our mathematical learning to copy and continue patterns.
