Author visit

We were delighted to welcome Sean Perkins into school this week to lead a series of engaging workshops with our Reception and Key Stage 1 children.

Sean is a talented author and illustrator whose books inspire imagination, creativity and a love of reading. Through his interactive sessions, children explored the process of creating stories and illustrations, discovering how ideas can be brought to life through both words and pictures.

The workshops were full of enthusiasm, creativity and laughter, and provided a wonderful opportunity for children to develop their storytelling skills while fostering a lifelong enjoyment of books and reading. We would like to thank Sean for sharing his passion and inspiring our young learners.

Kingfishers Dentist Visit

On Monday we had a fantastic visit with an amazing dentist (Ned’s mum). She came in during our science lesson to help us learn all about the different types of teeth, how to look after and how to correctly clean them.

The children had a lot of fun, especially when all of their mouths turned blue!

Nursery fun & learning

Our nursery children have had lots of fun exploring pumpkins this week! They enjoyed looking at the pumpkins, feeling their bumpy skin and finding out what was inside. The children loved scooping out the pumpkin flesh and seeds, using their hands and special tools to investigate the different textures.

As we made our pumpkin soup, everyone helped to stir and mix the ingredients. We talked about what we could see, feel and smell, and learnt lots of new words along the way. The children were excited to watch the ingredients come together and were very proud of the delicious soup they helped to make.

It was a wonderful hands-on activity that encouraged curiosity, teamwork and plenty of sensory exploration. Well done to all our little chefs!
