Star of the Week 23.05.2025

WK 23.05.2025 – Celebrating our Stars & Attendance this week!

Star of the Week Awards

Congratulations to all our Stars of the Week! It is always challenging to single out a student as Star of the Week as they all perform exceptionally well, however the Teachers try their best to select a student each week. We are incredibly proud of everyone who received an award this week. In addition to the Star of the Week awards, our Music Stars this week are as follows: Key Stage 1 – Isla Rose (Yr 1) and Key Stage 2 Connor (Yr 3).

Weekly Attendance Update

We aim for all classes to maintain attendance above 96%, in line with national guidelines. This week’s top performers were Owls with an impressive 100% attendance – absolutely fantastic! Several other classes also made great efforts, with Year 2 Miss Tomlison’s class achieving 99% Attendance, followed by Year 6 class with 97% Attendance.

Thank you to all our students, parents and staff for your continued support. Let’s keep striving for success and maintaining high attendance rates!

Year 6 Residential Trip to Winmarleigh Hall

Our Year 6 students, led by Mr. Stevenson and Miss Horan, enjoyed a fantastic residential trip to the Winmarleigh Hall.

From the thrill of ladder climbing and obstacle courses, to the focus and fun of disc golf and rafting, they have been challenging themselves, supporting one another, and making brilliant memories. And what better way to end the day than around a campfire, toasting marshmallows and sharing laughs with friends!

Sensory Circuit and LEGO Therapy

Some of our children take part in a regular Sensory Circuit session or a Lego Therapy session, led by our ELSA, Mrs Zelinski.

The Sensory Circuit session is a fun and structured activity designed to help them self-regulate and get ready for learning. From movement-based tasks to calming activities, the children engaged enthusiastically and benefited from improved focus and emotional readiness which is a fantastic way to support their well-being and development.

The small LEGO Therapy sessions are small group sessions who are designed to help children develop important social skills such as teamwork, communication and problem-solving all through fun and engaging LEGO building activities.

Year 5/6 Dodgeball Tournament

On Friday 2nd May, a group of students from our Year 5 and Year 6 took part in a Dodgeball Tournament.

We are extremely pleased with their achievements. One of our Teams has gone through Quarter Finals and the other team has gone through the Semi Finals.

Well done everyone!

Year 4 Trip to Eureka

On Friday 2nd May, our Year 4 students, led by Mrs. Robson, enjoyed an exciting and educational trip to the Eureka Museum.

The visit offered a hands-on learning experience, allowing the children to explore interactive exhibits focused on science, the human body, and everyday technology. The museum’s playful and immersive approach helped reinforce topics covered in class, while also sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
