School Prefects help shape the New Spring/Summer Menu

Our School Prefects met with the School Chef to discuss ideas and options for the new Spring/Summer Menu, which will be introduced after February half term. The meeting gave pupils the opportunity to share their thoughts on meal choices and consider what would be popular, balanced and enjoyable for everyone. The prefects approached the discussion with great enthusiasm, asking questions and offering thoughtful suggestions on behalf of their peers. As part of the session, pupils were also able to sample one of the new puddings, which added to the excitement and helped them make informed choices.

It was fantastic to see our prefects demonstrating confidence, teamwork and a strong sense of responsibility. Their contributions will play an important role in shaping the new menu, ensuring pupil voice remains at the heart of school life.

Star of the Week 30.01.2026

WK 30.01.2026 – Celebrating our Attendance this week!

In today’s Assembly we have celebrated the Star of the Week and Attendance. Attached is a list of all the Star of the Week winners for each class.

Attendance This Week
We aim for every class to reach at least 96% attendance, in line with national expectations. This week, a special well done goes to Year 4 (Mrs Robson’s class) with 96.4% attendance, To celebrate this – the students in Year 4 class had a morning toast treat this Friday.

Thank you to all our families for continuing to support excellent attendance — it really does make a difference to children’s learning.

Year 5 and Year 6 Celebrate Art and Achievement with Local Artist Workshop

Pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 recently took part in a fantastic art workshop with local artist Tony Greene, giving them the opportunity to explore abstract art and develop their creative skills in an exciting and hands-on way.

During the session, pupils learned about abstract painting techniques, including the use of colour, line, shape and movement to express ideas and emotions. They created their own individual pieces of artwork and also worked together on a collaborative “communal painting”, where each child contributed to a shared canvas. This encouraged teamwork, discussion and collective creativity.

This special workshop was also held in recognition of the Trust’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, Lisa Fathers, who was recently awarded an OBE. Pupils at Acre Hall wanted to mark this achievement and show their congratulations through a creative celebration, using art as a way to express their pride and appreciation.

The children showed excellent engagement, focus and enthusiasm throughout the workshop, and the standard of artwork produced was outstanding. It was wonderful to see pupils confidently experimenting with new techniques and supporting one another in the creative process.

We are extremely proud of our pupils and grateful to Tony Greene for providing such an inspiring and memorable experience. Opportunities like this help to enrich our curriculum and give children meaningful ways to connect their learning to real-life achievements and celebrations.
