Star of the Week 28.11.2025

WK 28.11.2025 – Celebrating our Attendance this week!

In today’s Assembly we have celebrated the Star of the Week and Attendance. Attached is a list of all the Star of the Week winners for each class. This week our Music Star for KS1 is Polly-Anna MG (Yr2) and for KS2 we had the whole Yr 5A class.

Attendance This Week
We aim for every class to reach at least 96% attendance, in line with national expectations. This week, a special well done goes to Owls class who had the highest attendance percentage for last week with 98% attendance. To celebrate this – the students in Mrs Griffin/Mrs Harrison’s class had a morning toast treat last Friday.

Thank you to all our families for continuing to support excellent attendance — it really does make a difference to children’s learning.

Celebrating Eva’s Incredible Success at the STARS Champion of Champions Show

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news from our school community. Eva C in Year 2 recently competed in the STARS Champion of Champions Show – her very first time taking part in an event of this size and prestige. Eva performed brilliantly and achieved results far beyond anything we could have imagined. We are extremely proud of her outstanding accomplishments.

 20yr+ Ridden Veteran – 10th out of 45

In this class, riders work with experienced older horses and ponies who continue to perform beautifully despite their age. Eva rode her pony Bron with incredible confidence and skill. Securing 10th place in such a strong national field was a remarkable achievement for them both.

M&M Lead Rein – “Shining Star” Award (from a class of 77)

The Lead Rein class is designed for younger riders who are led in the ring but must still demonstrate correct riding ability and awareness. The “Shining Star” Award is given to a competitor who stands out for their exceptional potential, presence and attitude. For Eva to be chosen from such a large class was truly heart-warming and a testament to her natural talent.

Tiny Tots Handler – 5th out of 56

In this class, children present their pony from the ground, showing calm control, understanding and teamwork. Eva handled Tiny, her miniature horse, beautifully. Achieving 5th place among so many skilled young competitors was an incredible result.

A huge congratulations to Eva for her dedication, confidence and fantastic achievements. She has represented our school wonderfully, and we look forward to seeing where her equestrian journey takes her next!

Tiny Acres learning

The children in Tiny Acres (ages 2–3) enjoyed a rich and creative learning experience in November as they explored the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Through storytelling, role play and hands-on activities, the children deepened their understanding of characters and sequencing while engaging their imaginations.

A highlight of the week was making porridge, followed by a fun session of Goldilocks yoga inspired by the characters in the story. The theme also supported early mathematical development, with children practising counting and comparing size as they explored the bears’ bowls, chairs and beds.

Nature also played its part this month as the children discovered that Jack Frost had visited our outdoor area. They enjoyed investigating the icy changes, discussing the colder weather and experimenting with new ways to make marks in frost-covered surfaces.

Nursery 3 Year-Olds Children In Need Activities

This week our 3 year-old nursery children have had lots of activities to participate in. They have explored a story called ‘WOW! Said the owl’ and made Owl’s nests cakes. They have explored a range of different colours and linked those to how we are feeling. They have also taken part in our two minute silence for Remembrance Day and counted numbers up to 5 using poppies in Maths.

The Nursery children have also made their own tree of kindness using our favourite colours for our hands and fingers as the leaves on our tree to help promote anti-bullying week.

Finally as part of celebrating Children in Need today, children have enjoyed making yellow Play-Doh, making Pudsey’s bandage as part of our funky fingers challenge as well as colouring and painting pictures of Pudsey and his different coloured spots.
